ROBERT LANGFORD’S EAGERLY AWAITED NEW ART EXHIBIT STARTS WITH RECEPTION FEB. 4TH.

Due to the snow last Friday, the Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) postponed the exhibit reception for artist Robert Langford. The reception will take place this Friday, February 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. It is free to the public. Now retired and pursuing his own art, Langford is well known for his years of teaching art at the Branson High School. His work is reminiscent of America’s great Andrew Wythe.

Robert Langford’s exhibit Weather, Texture and the Process of Time premiers at the Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) gallery at 7 Downing Street in Hollister, Mo. Those eager to view the works and speak with the artist can do so from 6-9 p.m at the center on Feb. 4th.

Langford describes his new exhibit as a “blend of the past with the present.”

The exhibit will run Feb., 4-26 in historic downtown Hollister. Area visitors can reach Hollister easily from Branson by a short drive across the Taneycomo Bridge and taking a right turn into the town.

Langford’s exhibit presents a variety of media. including sheet metal, wire, and wood. “I’m drawn to things that are fading out,” says Langford. He uses resources that “have outlived their usefulness.”
